Notable Deals Jan 28: Yuri Milner’s bet on immortality, Nexters moves to consolidate Russian gaming industry

HEALTH TECH

Yuri Milner, Russian-born billionaire Yuri Milner and early backer of Facebook, is one of the investors in Altos Labs, a rejuvenation startup that launched earlier this month with $3 billion in funding. The company has an ambitious goal of “restoring cell health and resilience to reverse disease, injury, and the disabilities that can occur throughout life.”

Target Global, a Berlin-based VC firm, participated in a $34 million Series A round in Mayd, a medicine delivery startup. Mayd raised a $15 million seed round just last fall. [Source: TechCrunch]

Russian gaming company Nexters, which went public last year via a SPAC in a $1.9 billion Nasdaq listing, will acquire four gaming companies in a deal valued at $100 million. Russian startup SportGate, a platform for booking sports facilities, raised $500,000 via a convertible note from Quonota Investments and several angel investors. Currently the startup operates in three cities and plans to expand its network of facilities and range of services. [Source: Inc Russia]

Estonia-based identity verification startup Veriff raised $100 million in Series C, co-led by Tiger Global and Alkeon, to grow its team, R&D and marketing. They are also looking to expand beyond fintech applications into all online services. [Source: TechCrunch]
